To build the body of Christ in a welcoming, loving, and accepting environment in which no one stands alone.

  • To build a faithful community of Orthodox believers who are eager and enthusiastic to grow in their personal relationships with God, and to bring Christ’s love to their surroundings through community service and humanitarian work
  • To build a multicultural church that ministers to diverse members of the body of Christ
  • To educate and integrate new believers to the richness of the Coptic Orthodox faith

"With God, nothing will be impossible" - Luke 1:37

By the grace of God, through the intercessions of St. Mark & St. Mary of Egypt, and the prayers & support of our sister churches and all the congregation, we congratulate the city of Ottawa and the entire Coptic community for the establishment of a permanent home for this third Coptic Orthodox parish of Ottawa. It was God's will that this building continue to be a house of God.

November 6th, 2017 is a historic milestone whereby St. Mark & St. Mary of Egypt Coptic Orthodox Church successfully purchased the former St. Matthias church from the Anglican diocese for $1.7M. By your generous support, we raised the funds required for the downpayment of $425,000, as well as securing a mortgage of $1.275M on a 25 year amortization.

Please join us this Saturday Nov. 11th to celebrate this special occasion with Divine Liturgy followed by breakfast to share together in God's work.

This milestone somewhat parallels the miracle of the 5 loaves and 2 fish (John 6:1-14) as Christ reveals that when we offer whatever we have to Him and give thanks to God the Father in heaven, we see the abundance of His great love manifested before us for all to be filled and enjoy.

Let us continue to unite as one body in Christ to help sustain this beautiful place of worship for years to come.

Thank you all and Glory be to God!

Christ is Born! Glorify Him!
"Man must live in the thought and spirit of childhood. Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem of Judea a little infant...every time we celebrate the Nativity, we celebrate childhood. We can say that childhood is the key...our Lord Jesus Christ teaches us: 'Unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.'"
- His Holiness Pope Tawadros II (2018)
